WNBA All-Star Roster Announced
How did we do with our predictions?
WNBA ALL-STAR Game Roster Announced
The WNBA announced the roster for the 2024 All-Star Game last night. Today we are going to go through our predictions to see how we did. The WNBA All-Stars will take on Team USA on Saturday, July 20, at 8:30 p.m. ET/5:30 p.m. PT on ABC.
All-Star Roster
GUARDS
Prediction: Caitlin Clark (Indiana Fever), Arike Ogunbowale (Dallas Wings), Kayla McBride (Minnesota Lynx), Skylar Diggins-Smith (Seattle Storm).
Actual: Caitlin Clark (Indiana Fever), Arike Ogunbowale (Dallas Wings), Kayla McBride (Minnesota Lynx), Allisha Gray (Atlanta Dream), Kelsey Mitchell (Indiana Fever)
This wasn’t a very deep guard pool to begin with, so I knew I could be off on a few. Caitlin, Arike, and Kayla were the obvious ones to me. I had mentioned Allisha Gray as a possibility. Kelsey Mitchell has stepped up big-time for the Fever this year and is a big reason for their turnaround. You could make the argument that Skylar Diggins-Smith is putting up similar numbers for a better team, but overall, I think fans and other voters did a great job.
Forwards
Prediction: Aliyah Boston (Indiana Fever), Angel Reese (Chicago Sky), Dearica Hamby (LA Sparks), Nneka Ogwumike (Seattle Storm), DeWanna Bonner (Connecticut Sun), Jonquel Jones (NY Liberty)
Actual: Aliyah Boston (Indiana Fever), Angel Reese (Chicago Sky), Dearica Hamby (LA Sparks), Nneka Ogwumike (Seattle Storm), DeWanna Bonner (Connecticut Sun), Jonquel Jones (NY Liberty), Brionna Jones (Connecticut Sun)
In this forward group, we only got one selection wrong. Even though I had Ezi Magbegor in my final two, I thought she was as close to a lock. She is averaging 13.4 points per game and 8.8 rebounds per game this season and is on one of the best teams in the league. Unfortunately, this game is a bit of a popularity contest, and Aliyah Boston and Angel Reese were tops among fan voting. I wanted and chose Angel Reese to make the roster, but can you really make the argument that she is a better player than Magbegor right now? Sure, Angel is averaging more rebounds per game, but Ezi is shooting a whole 10% better from the field and has 2 more blocks per game.
Final 2
Ezi Magbegor (F) Seattle Storm and Brionna Jones (F) Connecticut Sun

Final Thoughts
I think the voters did a great job. I would imagine this roster is the best-case scenario for the WNBA. They were able to get their young stars in there (Boston, Clark, and Reese) to go along with the best players who did not make Team USA. It’s also nice to see Kayla McBride and Dearica Hamby both make it. The only mistake I see is leaving out Ezi Magbegor.
